In September 2005 I joined the Fleetwood Camera Club. Lovely bunch of people with years of experience and ready to give good advice when it's requested.
I have regularly entered the club's Quarterly print competitions finally getting three pictures Commended in the 2005/6 Quarterly and Annual Competitions. In 2006/7 I managed to get a Highly Commended award in the 3rd Quarterly competition. In 2007/8 I had success in the 2nd Quarterly competition; gaining 1st Place. In 2008/9 Quarterly competitions were replaced with half-yearly competitions. I had no luck in them. This year (2009/2010) I didn't enter the two half-yearly competitions. But I did enter the 2009/10 Annual competition and gained overall 1st Place.
In the 2010/11 season I gained 2nd place in the 1st half-yearly competition. I also gained 1st place in the 2nd half-yearly competition. No luck though in the Annual 2010/11 Competition.
In the 2011/12 season I gained a 1st and a 2nd place in the 1st half-yearly competition.
If you would like to see my entries in any of these competitions follow this link - My Competition Pictures. I also exhibited some pictures in the Club's 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 Annual Exhibitions. It was through a visit to 2005 exhibition that I came to join the club.
As a result of searching for some information about my pictures taken at Locomotion some summers ago I came across Geoff Cryer's lovely website with lots and lots of very fine rail related pictures and also many very fine non-rail related ones too. I thoroughly recommend a visit. It even has a blog! For rail enthusiast's click on:

For non-rail pictures click on Geoff's Walks With A Camera.

This area has yet to be constructed and I don't know when I will find time to do it now that the number of holiday pictures that I put on the website has grown so much. There are very many non-digital photo's to be scanned both from prints or negatives/slides. When I get round to doing some of this I will add many more pictures to the web site. This Spring I scanned several hundred negatives for 1999 and 2000 on my Nikon V ED scanner. Very time consuming. A large selection are on the Summer Academy pages for Durham 1999 and Durham 2000.
Picture above is a view of a red squirrel taken at Formby, modified in PhotoShop and saved as a GIF file using the Web palette.35mm SLR
