Back To Summer Academy

Durham is a city in County Durham in the North-East of England.

The Summer Academy 2000 course Aristocrats and Arrivistes lead by John Smith was held there in July.

Places visited on the course included:

Durham Cathedral, Newcastle, Chipchase Castle, Wallington, Housesteads, Vindolanda, Gibside, Staindrop Church.

I also visited Barnard Castle on my way to Durham and Brough Castle on my way home; and various parts of Durham, Binchester Fort, Aukland Castle, Escomb Saxon Church during the free time.

For a chronological resumé of my vacation follow these links: SA 2000 Day by Day.
