Our coach drops us off outside Alnwick Castle on a beautiful morning. I visited Alnwick Castle in 2002 before the gradens were revamped- there are only four pictures on my website from that visit. I was very keen to return and see the new gardens and the Treehouse and take lots more pictures.

The ramparts are well guarded.

As is the Barbican through which we have to pass to gain entry.

Once inside we can admire the Gatehouse.

The Admissions Booth in a courtyard area.

Through the archway and you are in the Sanctuary where there is the Castle Shop ...

... and the Clock Tower.

The group assembles outside the restaurant.

A wider view of the west side of the Sanctuary.

On the north side of the Sanctuary are some displays in the Coach House.
