St Nicholas Church stands in the Market Place in the centre of Durham. My search for Green Men (as a consequence of the course in York) made me take a new interest in ecclesiastical buildings.
On my way to the church I came across these faces.
The church is hemmed in by other building so my pictures are all of small parts. Lots of weathered carving here.
Some nice grotesques.
One or two faces.
A fine face puller below and left of the clock.
Restored I think.
A Green Man !!!
